A Small Laptop, work for work?

Is it worth buying a small laptop for work?

Depends on what you may need it for.

The ease of portability and price is THE main factor when considering buying a small laptop over a big, or normal size laptop (for our purposes anything below 12.1 inches is considered a small laptop)

Dont mobile workers carry a PDA or have a device with the same functionality on a mobile cell phone? Perhaps, but the nature of the small laptop means that just about anything you can do on your office or home PC, you can do on your mini marvel.

For instance you can update excel spreadsheets, surf the web comfortably and most importantly, you have the full range of windows and linux based software at your disposal. The same cannot be said of a PDA or mobile phone. Yes mobile phones are shipped with Microsoft Windows CE and Microsoft Windows Mobile Edition but they don’t offer the same experience as your computer at home or office. Also the tiny keyboards and very small screen make many office and internet tasks awkward and often frustrating. Fine for emailing, but not anything with where you need to view a whole web page.

Given many small laptops are under the £200.00 price range at new and that they are more comfortable to use than a PDA or mobile phone, then it would even be tempting to buy a small laptop over a normal sized laptop if portability is your main criteria.
