The Acer Aspire Timeline 1810T ushers in a new age of netbooks where the race for processing power gives way to a new race, that of electrical power. Fair enough, there’s no point having the fastest chip in the world, if you haven’t an efficient way of running it, in the modern age of energy shortages.

The 1810T offers the new Intel CULV (Consumer Ultra Low Voltage), a smaller, more energy efficient processor engineered from the Intel Pentium and Core 2 Processors.
The clock speed is at 1.4Ghz so in some ways this is a backward step, but you may say its just a ‘correction‘ in the mobile computing industry.
The new small laptop also has offers 1366 x 768 display on a 11.6 inch screen and includes a HDMI port to connect to your television. Also the impressive memory (up to 4GB) shows manufacturers are getting the message that a large amount of system memory is the BEST allocation of cost towards a laptop, and the MOST favoured by consumers in general. Coupled with an 8 Hour battery and you have what is a great mini laptop overall.
On the software side, Windows Vista is standard but with Windows 7 nearing full release, support should extend to the latest Windows OS.
Of course the 1810T Timeline netbook will be pricier than Atom based mini netbooks, but the visual benefits of higher resolution screen will attract more buyers frustrated at the amount of vertical and horizontal scrolling needed, when surfing the web, on smaller notebook and laptop computers.
