There has been a lot of criticism of small laptops or netbooks as not having the capability of a notebook computer or a regular full featured laptop. I think critics are missing the point.
Firstly you have to separate the small laptop as defined by its size, with a netbook which is PRIMARILY used to access low-level media applications. In other words you might need to check your email once in a while, or access some information from a website, on a journey or to keep the kids quiet for a while. You are not going to be developing any websites, designing posters, or playing your favourite first person shoot em up. A small laptop which is NOT a netbook will do these things well, like the Sony Vaio P.
Netbooks are lightweight, small laptop with a particular funtion. They are not a substitute for a notebook, and besides the screen limitations means most high end software like Adobe photoshop or games will not function well. Also they have less processing power and less memory and hard drive space because there function is not to power hungry applications and software.
