Small laptop

Also known as netbook, laptop, webbook, notebook, UMPC, ultra-portable computer.

Solid State Drive (SSD)

Also known as a RAM drive, The component where your operating system and data is stored. It uses SRAM and DRAM Memory rather than a normal Hard Drive. A SSD drive has no moving parts, so is less fragile and therefore more reliable than SATA and IDE drives which uses moving mechanical parts. This also means an SSD drive performs faster on start up, but much more expensive than your average hard drive.

SATA

Serial ATA is a common wired interface connection to a Hard Drive or CD Drive. Its better than its predecessor ATA, because it uses less pins, so the cables are much smaller and its much faster. SATA drives are soon to be an enormous 5 and 10 TERABYTES!! soon, that’s five and ten thousand Gigabytes!!; enough to store every picture ever created by all cameras….. well nearly.
